Rear Sprocket for Triumph Street Twin 900 (Steel)
MREV-P-000082Rear sprocket for Triumph Street Twin 900 (Steel): CrMn 5045 steel at the teeth that engage directly with the chain. Select a tooth count and sprocket carrier suitable for the bike. Durability also depends on chain condition and maintenance.
The rear sprocket for Triumph Street Twin 900 (Steel) engages the chain through its steel teeth. For the steel version on Street Twin 900, the sprocket must match the carrier bolt circle.
Steel sprocket characteristics
The CrMn 5045 steel sprocket's tooth ring works with the chain whenever the rear wheel receives drive. If replacing an old rear sprocket and prioritizing steel teeth, this model is an option to consider. Material alone does not determine service life. Chainline, chain slack and front sprocket condition also affect wear. If weight matters, compare the same tooth count and dimensions with the sprocket currently in use.
Selecting tooth count and chain size
A different tooth count can change the bike's response. With the front sprocket unchanged, fewer rear teeth produce a lower final drive ratio. To retain familiar riding characteristics, keep the existing rear tooth count. This model is available with 41 teeth. This product uses a size 520 chain. Check the markings on your bike's chain.
Checking the rear wheel assembly
If the wheels or chain set have been changed, obtain the actual specifications before selecting tooth count. The distance from the carrier seating face to the center of the tooth ring must be correct. Matching tooth counts alone cannot resolve fitment if the chainline is incorrect.
