The Quantum sprocket pictured is the 13-tooth front sprocket in the Dat Bike Quantum chain-drive system. The front sprocket has a splined center bore for shaft mounting, unlike the larger sprocket fitted to the rear wheel.
SCM440 steel in the front sprocket
The front sprocket uses SCM440 alloy steel, a material used for load-bearing mechanical components. The front sprocket teeth drive the chain directly, so material and tooth-surface condition both matter when replacing a worn part. When selecting a new front sprocket, check shaft fit, tooth count and chain size so the drivetrain operates in the correct position.
Pairing with the Quantum rear sprocket
The 13-tooth front sprocket pictured requires the product's specified size 428 chain. The Quantum rear sprocket is a separate component with a wheel mounting pattern and more teeth. If the bike uses a 13/52 combination, the final drive ratio is 52 divided by 13, or 4. Changing the front sprocket while retaining the rear changes this ratio. Compare the spline profile, seating face and retaining arrangement of the old front sprocket before ordering.
