TSUBAKI ALPHA 2 XRG 525 Chain

TSUBAKI ALPHA 2 XRG 525 Chain connects the front and rear sprockets on a bike with a size 525 chain drive. The chain has 120 links. The final fitted length depends on the bike and both sprocket tooth counts.

How does the chain work?

The chain links and pins transmit drive, while the connecting link joins the two ends into a continuous loop. When the chain stretches, develops stiff links or wears unevenly, the sprocket and chain set may run less smoothly. Using the correct size 525 chain, setting chain slack and cleaning and lubricating it according to the instructions help the drivetrain operate consistently. During installation, select a connecting link compatible with the chain supplied. Ask the retailer about the seal design if this matters to your selection.

Use 120 links or shorten the chain?

120 links is the chain length before cutting and installation. It does not mean every bike uses the full length. Count the links in the existing chain, record both sprocket tooth counts and check the chain adjuster position on the swingarm. The installer should cut and join the chain only after checking the required length. If the gearing has changed, the original link count alone is not sufficient.
