To compare it with a steel sprocket, use two sprockets of the same dimensions to establish the actual weight difference.
Selecting tooth count and chain size
A different tooth count can change the bike's response. With the front sprocket unchanged, fewer rear teeth produce a lower final drive ratio. To retain familiar riding characteristics, keep the existing rear tooth count. Available tooth-count options are 39, 40 and 41.
Checking the rear wheel assembly
Retain the existing tooth count if you are happy with the bike's response. Changing the tooth count changes the ratio. The distance from the carrier seating face to the center of the tooth ring must be correct. Matching tooth counts alone cannot resolve fitment if the chainline is incorrect.
