Start with the requirements

When should you submit a custom request?

If you are unsure whether a new component is needed, send your bike details and goals. MREV can check existing options before assessing a custom design.

01 / FITMENT

Cannot find a suitable component

The bike, wheels, hub or sprocket carrier has been modified, and the mounting arrangement needs to be checked.

02 / SETUP

Need a different setup

You have a specific application in mind or are considering a drivetrain setup change.

03 / PROJECT

Have a sample or drawing

You have a sample component, measurements or a drawing and need a feasibility assessment.

From requirements to components

Each step answers a question

The process depends on the initial data and the complexity of the requirements. MREV confirms the specifications and proposed approach before proceeding.

  1. Understand the requirements

Record the bike, model year, current setup, goals, constraints and component required.

Output: The scope of checks required.

  2. Check fitment

Review the available information to determine whether an existing product is suitable or a custom assessment is needed.

Output: An initial approach or a list of missing data.

  3. Measure and verify data

Request photos, drawings, dimensions or a physical sample as needed, and check the relevant mounting surfaces and positions.

Output: Design specifications, once sufficient data is available.

  4. Design and approval

Propose the construction, specifications and points requiring agreement. Finalize the approach only after the key requirements have been confirmed.

Output: An approved proposal/drawing within the project scope.

  5. Machining

Manufacture to the agreed approach, with timing and cost confirmed for each request.

Output: A component made to the approved configuration.

  6. Inspection and delivery

Inspect against the criteria applicable to the project, deliver the component and collect post-installation fitment feedback when real-world data is available.

Output: Inspection results and guidance on the next steps.

If the data is insufficient to confirm dimensions or fitment, MREV will request further information before finalizing the design.

Before contacting us

What should you prepare?

Send these details to get started

  • Make, model and model year (if known).
  • The component required or the issue you are experiencing.
  • Your intended use and any details you know about the current setup.
  • Contact details so MREV can follow up if needed.

Include these if available

  • Photos of the current component, mounting position and the complete bike.
  • Drawings, dimensions or a sample component.
  • Specifications of any changed wheels, hub/sprocket carrier, chain and final drive ratio.
  • Required quantity and preferred timing.

You can get started without a drawing. Photos support an initial assessment only; the required specifications will be confirmed for each project.

Custom Engineering / Submit a Request

Start with your bike.

Tell MREV about your bike, its current condition and the issue you want to resolve. You can get started without a drawing.

After receiving your request

  1. Review the bike and setup information you provide.
  2. If needed, request further photos, dimensions or a sample for verification.
  3. Once sufficient data is available, discuss existing options or assess a custom solution.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I get started without an engineering drawing?

Send your bike details, the component required and its intended use. Photos, dimensions or a physical sample help MREV assess the request. If data is missing, MREV will explain what else is needed.

Is a custom design always necessary?

No. MREV checks existing options first. A custom design is appropriate only when the available configuration does not meet the requirements.

Can you assess a request from photos alone?

Photos can support an initial assessment but are generally insufficient to confirm production. MREV may need dimensions, drawings, a sample or an inspection on the bike.

Can you reproduce an existing component?

This can be assessed depending on the sample’s condition and intended use. MREV needs to check whether it can be measured, modeled and manufactured.

When can you confirm a quote and lead time?

MREV can confirm cost and timing for each project only after the requirements, material, quantity and necessary technical data have been clarified.

    Does MREV accept one-off requests?

MREV can assess one-off or small-batch requests. Feasibility depends on the design, material and manufacturing process required for the specific component.
