Consider the front tooth count together with the rear sprocket currently fitted. Dividing rear teeth by front teeth gives the final drive ratio. When replacing a front sprocket, retain the tooth count if you are happy with the bike's current riding characteristics. This model is available with 17 teeth.
Checks before installation
If the chain size has been changed, recheck front sprocket thickness rather than tooth count alone. If the drivetrain has been modified, measure the sprocket thickness at the chain-running area and check the chainline to the rear sprocket. Use the currently fitted parts as the reference.
