To compare it with a steel sprocket, use two sprockets of the same dimensions to establish the actual weight difference.
Selecting tooth count and chain size
The final drive ratio is calculated by dividing the rear sprocket tooth count by the front sprocket tooth count. Retain the existing rear tooth count when replacing worn parts, or select a different count if you want to change the final drive ratio and have checked the chain length. Available tooth-count options are 41, 42 and 43.
Checking the rear wheel assembly
A back-face photo is often more useful than a front view for showing hole positions and contact surfaces. If the rear wheel has been changed, use dimensions from the carrier currently fitted rather than an image of a sprocket on a bike with stock wheels. Check that the chain runs centrally on the tooth ring.
